Mr.Tweneboah Koduah, Chairman of Kumasi Youth Association(KuYA) who doubles as the General Secretary of Asante Youth Association (AYA) takes a strong exception to the recent unfortunate comments, made on a local radio station (Akoma Fm) by founder of United Progressive Party (UPP), Mr. Akwasi Addai (Odike).
The said comment, which was subsequently carried by Ghana Web, as captioned “don’t appoint anyone like the current self-seeking, incompetent KMA boss” attributable to Odike is not only misleading, but reinforces his trademark of the inconsistent political animal he is known to be over the years.
In the year 2013, the same Odike is reported to have invoked curses on then Kumasi Mayor, Hon. Kojo Bonsu over a disputed property located at Asokwa, Kumasi.
According to Tweneboa Kodua(TK) Odike’s unfortunate comment is born out of hatred, greed and mischief because Hon. Osei Assibey Antwi restrained Odike from developing a parcel of land lying along the Santasi roundabout as against the interest of Kumasi /Asanteman. Since then, Odike has never seen anything good in the City Mayor.
If Odike’s self-seeking agenda does not fall in line with the overall developmental agenda of Asanteman, anyone who restrains him by lawful means automatically attracts his weird hatred.
Since 2017, the good people of Kumasi have witnessed a tremendous growth in all spheres of the local economy ranging from Governance, Water and Sanitation, Security, Recreation, Health, Education, Revenue mobilisation among others.
The wisdom,maturity and humility with which the current Mayor, Hon. Osei Assibey Antwi, transparently allocated the Kejetia shops to deserving beneficiaries, the smooth movement of traders of Central Market to pave way for the construction of phase two of the Kejetia Redevelopment Project, the revitalisation of the abandoned Krofrom Market, KATH maternity block coupled with his consensus building acumen with which he serves as Mayor is unprecedented.
The significant reduction in KMA’s debt to service providers, as well as the withdrawal and settlement of several court cases involving KMA could not have been achieved without the exemplary leadership provided by Hon. Osei Assibey Antwi.
If Odike could heap a barrage of insults on His Excellency Akufo – Addo in the lead up to election 2020, just to attract the attention of his pay masters, running Hon. Osei Assibey Antwi down in the media is no news and inconsequential to his political futunes.
Hon.Osei Assibey Antwi was recently awarded by KuYA for his outstanding performance as KMA Boss in the presence of Nananom at the Prempeh Assembly Hall. Any attempt to smear his personality with unfounded fabrications will not be entertained and well meaning people of Kumasi will come after perpetrators of such unproductive adventures.
The Chairman(KuYA) and Chief Scribe of AYA calls on Odike to be focus desist from such character assassination before he exposes him on his dubious deals which stinks to high-heavens.
