The EC starts its voter registration from 12/08/23 to 02/10/23. I asked some NDC members at Bawkzua how safe it will be for their young persons of voting age to register. They said the EC’s office is situated at Daduri- a Kudasi enclave, so it will be safe for them to register.
However, they said that NDC members who are Mamprusis – or belonging to tribes suspected to be aligned to Mamprusis – can not go to Daduri to register.
I checked and found the EC office on the ground floor of the offices of the Bawku Municipal Assembly which is located in a Kusasi enclave.
Accordingly, the EC must be urged to decentralise the registration exercise in the Bawku Municipality to make it safe for all persons of voting age to register.
