The Ghana Digital Centres Limited(GDCL) and Mudunuru Group on Tuesday signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) to bring digital solutions to the various sectors of the economy and create jobs.
Speaking at the signing ceremony, Chief Executive Officer for GDCL, Hon Kwadwo Baah Agyemang said the deal was a comprehensive partnership for strategic engagements for the next two years.
He expressed deligh to have the Indian group on board as partners to help bring digital solutions to various sectors of the Ghanaian economy.
“This MOU between the GDCL and the Mudunuru Group is an important collaboration in our efforts to make Ghana a digital jobs hub in line with the GDCL’s promise of Harnessing the digital potential of Ghana to promote Job Creation and Economic Development”, the GDCL boss stated.
DETAILS:
Giving more details for the partnership, the CEO revealed among others that the MoU provides a framework for; a strategic partnership between the Parties for the purpose of providing effective capacity-building, technical assistance and support and other areas of cooperation.
Secondly, the deal seeks to provide the most comprehensive and high-quality technical assistance, partnership, and support in establishing Digital \ Virtual Schools co-located at GDCs offering Technical Skills Development and Capacity Building Programs to enable students and working professionals get better placements and contribute to the national economy.
Thirdly, Hon Agyemang noted that the MOU intends to build an eco-system for empowering startups to scale faster by creating a strong network of stakeholders and prospective customers with robust go-to-market strategies.
The Fourth goal, the CEO revealed is to foster global partnerships and alliances with reputed institutions
Fifthly, the MOU seeks to expand the network of Ghana Digital Centers Limited to other parts of Ghana at Regional and Sub-Regional level to enable students and working professionals from all over the country to gain access to the facilities and programs.
The sixth expectation is to establish a joint compendium of relevant capacity-building and training programs to be made available for funding organizations in Ghana, India and other Multi-lateral organisations.
The seventh, the CEO said is to jointly explore opportunities in Ghana and other countries in Africa for offering consultation services and pursue / undertake Information & Communication Technology projects
BACKGROUND:
The signing of this Memorandum of Understanding between the two institutions symbolizes a partnership which intends to add value to both GDCL and the Mudunuru Group and produce synergies that will result in achieving a shared goal of making Ghana a global digital solutions hub.
