Ghana’s next president hopeful Hon Kennedy Agyapong on Monday 30th January 2023 renewed the yearly maintenance fee of the linear accelerator; a cancer treatment plant at the Oncology department of the Okomfo Anokye Teaching Hospital.

The plant’s renewal fee is USD 147,000 and the gesture is something he does every year so as to keep the facility alive in the fight against cancer related diseases.

Inspecting the device at the hospital on Monday, the MP for Assin Central doubling as NPP’s presidential candidate promised to pay the medical bill of GHs 5000 of a 70-year old breast cancer patient Madam Akua Serwaa who is a resident of Ade3b3ba.

The foregoing timely intervention was called to play when the latter immediately after sighting at the premises quickly approached him and voiced out to him her challenge (inability to settle the huge debt).

Addressing the cancer patients, Hon Kennedy recalled how a relative of his worsened the state of her diseased breast when she ignored his advise to her on the need to seek medical treatment.

He said his relative instead of visiting a health center for treatment instead sought for a spiritual remedy from the late T.B Joshua and ended up worsening the situation.

He therefore admonished the patients to have trust in medical officers since God has endowed them with knowledge to treat diseases.

On the same day, Hon Kennedy Agyapong also presented hospital beds and mattresses to the Okomfo Anokye Teaching Hospital.
