GIMPA Kumasi Campus Launches SRC Week and Alumini Homecoming.

The Kumasi campus of the Ghana Institute of  Management and Public Administration, has launched its SRC Week and Alumini Homecoming for the 2022/2023 academic year.

 

At a colourful launching ceremony which was held the at the forecourt of the Kumasi campus was duly represented by,  Sur. Prof. Martin Morgan(Deputy Rector GIMPA), Mr. Kwadwo Arhin(Kumasi Campus Manager), Mr. Martin Dimbie(Assistant Registrar/Administrator Ksi. Campus), Rev. Dr. Richard Boso( Former Campus Manager Ksi.), Past and present students, among others. For the unveiling and sales of paraphernalia for the weeklong activities from  March 27 to April 2, 2023. On the Theme: “Bridging the gap between the Students, Alumini and the Society.”
In an interview, Sur. Prof. Martin Morgan Tuuli, called on all GIMPA Alumini to be part of its forthcoming homecoming event. “We are calling on the alumini in particular, because, the homecoming is focused on them to come back to see how the campus has grown and continue to strive since they left GIMPA 10years ago. So that, we can continue to educate and build capacity within Kumasi as well.”

“Moreover, there are a lot of people who graduated from GIMPA and impacting society in many sectors of the Ghanaian economy not just in Kumasi, but beyond. My message to them is that, “You are part of the the GIMPA story in Kumasi and therefore, we are calling on you to take the opportunity of this homecoming to come back, support the campus and showcase what you are doing as an alumini of GIMPA. So that, we can be proud of what we are doing together,” he added.

 

 

Mr. Kwadwo Arhin, the Kumasi campus Manager, urged all past and current students to partake in the upcoming event. “GIMPA has produced Men and Women in highly positions and I would advise them all to go by what they were being taught as we show gratitude in their coming home to visit their alma mater.”

 

 

Ophelia Prempeh-Kessei, the SRC president for GIMPA Kumasi Campus, expressed worry about how people(Alumini) of various institutions tend to neglect their various schools upon completion. She added, “one of  our main motive for the SRC Week celebration, Alumini Homecoming as well as  the 10years anniversary of GIMPA Kumasi Campus, is to let all institutions know how they can affect positively communities in which they are situated in. This among others, are the reasons why we chose the Theme: “Bridging the gap between the Students, Alumini and the Society.”

The much anticipated event which also marks 10years of GIMPA’s existence in  Kumasi as the “Center of Excellence,” is expected to bring all alumini back to campus  to see how the school has strive over a decade. And to also embark on series of line- up activities like, Media interviews and Social Awareness programs, Open forum engagement with Management (zoom), Educational talks, ect. from 27th-31st March.  With the main event(Float, indoor games, cooking competition and Blood donation) on Saturday, 1st April, 2023. Ending with a Thanksgiving Service at PIWC- Asokwa on Sunday, 2nd April, 2023.
