GENERAL SECRETARY of the NPP, Lawyer Justin Kodua, briefly, turned a drummer on Sunday afternoon in Kumasi.
This was during the last ‘Akwasidae’ festival of the year, which was held at the Manhyia Palace, the seat of the Asantehene.
The traditional event saw Vice President Alhaji Dr. Bawumia and his wife, Samira, and other NPP officials in attendance.
The dignitaries gathered, however, got stunned when they saw NPP General Secretary, Justin Kodua playing drums at the function.
Instead of joining his colleagues on the dais, the NPP Scribe was rather seen in the procession of Otumfuo Osei Tutu II, the Asantehene.
Interestingly, Justin Kodua had lowered his clothes to his waist level as a sign of his deep respect for the occupant of the Golden Stool.
To the surprise of the people gathered, Justin Kodua was also part of the ‘Mpintin’ drummers of Otumfuo at the traditional programme.
The NPP top official was busily playing the special traditional drums even as he and his colleague drummers, followed the Asante King.
Most of the attendants of the function commended Justin Kodua for taking time out of his tight schedule to serve the Asantehene.
Others also lauded Justin Kodua for his deep love and respect for the rich culture and traditions of the Asante Kingdom.
