Member of Parliament for Assin Central Constituency, Kennedy Agyapong, has been urged to break away from the ruling New Patriotic Party ahead of the 2024 general elections.
A group called Ashanti Regional Volunteer Groups for Hon. Ken has called on the lawmaker to take the bold step, as he is the only one who can take this country out of the ditch created by the Akufo-Addo government.
Gabriel Amankwaa, the chairman of the group, said that despite Kennedy Agyapong losing the NPP flag-bearer elections to Dr. Bawumia, their survey suggests that the lawmaker is still the preferred choice of Ghanaians in general.
“We still maintain that Kennedy Agyapong is still the man who should lead this country as president. We want him to take the bold step and save this country because everything shows that he is the right person for the job,” Gabriel Amankwaa said on Rainbow Radio Accra.
Meanwhile, Kennedy Agyapong and all the other aspirants who contested the NPP November 4, 2023, elections signed an agreement not to break away from the party regardless of the outcome of the elections.
