The Ashanti Regional Chairman of the opposition National Democratic Congress ,Chairman Nana Akwasi has in a campaign speech in the Asante Akim South Constituency in the Ashanti region accused the NPP of being full of lies and deception.
He said,the NPP deceived the people of Ghana with sweet tongue and lies in elections 20216 and 2020 , and Ghanaians went their way and voted them into power.
According to him , after their lies and sweet promises, President Nana Akufo-Addo and his Vice President,Dr Mahamudu Bawumia failed to live up to their promises and meet the huge expectations of Ghanaians.
“Ghana is now a poor country. We are bankrupt and the government itself says we cannot pay our debts”, he added.
Chairman Nana Akwasi is in the Asante Akim South constituency meeting with Chiefs and elders in the area to campaign for their votes during the 2024 general elections.
He told NDC members in Dansabonso that ,despite series of advice and caution,NPP government continued to engage in excessive borrowing, coupled with economic mismanagement, which has brought us to where we are now.
He revealed that the NPP is corrupt and doesn’t think about the welfare of Ghanaians .
The Nana Addo and Bawumia led government has deceived God with the construction of a national cathedral.
According to him, the NPP government ended up in given God a swimming pool instead of the national cathedral project promise with a cost of $58m.
This he said is a sign of corrupt practices and total deception.
He however appealed to the people of Asante Akim South constituency to vote out the NPP in election 2024 ,this he believes will bring total transformation to the area.
He then appealed to constituents to entrust the NDC Parliamentary candidate for the area, Maame Sarfoah Appiah with the parliamentary seat in election 2024 for total development and economic relief.
Nana Akwasi promised that if Maame Sarfoah Appiah is voted as the next MP for the area, the constituency will see total transformation from the sector of education, good roads rural electrification, employment, portable drinking water, and among others.
