JASIKAN MCE COMMISSIONS NEW CHPS COMPOUND AND NURSES’ QUARTERS

Hon. Parke-Davis Magyigbe, the Municipal Chief Executive (MCE) of Jasikan Municipal Assembly, today commissioned and handed over a newly constructed Community-Based Health Planning and Services (CHPS) compound with a 2-bedroom nurses’ quarters at Oseikrom. The event, held on Wednesday, 4th June 2025, marked a significant milestone in the Assembly’s efforts to improve healthcare accessibility for residents in the area. The facility, completed within an impressive six-month timeframe, is expected to provide essential medical services and accommodate healthcare workers, ensuring sustained quality care for the community.

In his address, Hon. Magyigbe emphasized the government’s commitment to enhancing healthcare infrastructure across the country. He also acknowledged the contributions of the Member of Parliament (MP) for Buem Constituency, Hon. Kofi Adams, who has consistently supported Oseikrom’s development over the years.

The MP has played a pivotal role in advancing education, infrastructure, water access, and community welfare in Oseikrom, including:

– *Infrastructure & Materials*:
– Supporting the *Oseikrom DA JHS project* with building materials (cement, roofing sheets, etc.).
– Donating *300+ mono desks* to selected schools, including Oseikrom.

– *Learning Materials*:
– Distributing *1,000+ exercise books* across Buem, benefiting Oseikrom students.

– *Water Project*:
– Facilitating *manual and mechanized boreholes* to improve water access.

– *Street Lighting*:
– Installing *20 streetlights* and donating *2 generators* to the basic school and community for borehole operations.

– *Governance, Culture & Religion*:
– Donating a *motorbike* to enhance mobility for community leaders.

– *Youth & Sports*:
– Supporting local teams with *jerseys and footballs*.

– *Agriculture*:
– Providing *fertilizers, rice seeds, wellington boots, cutlasses, and herbicides* to farmers.

Hon. Magyigbe urged the community to take ownership of the new CHPS compound and collaborate with health professionals to maintain the facility. The commissioning ceremony was attended by local leaders, health officials, and residents, who expressed gratitude for the development. This project aligns with the broader agenda of achieving universal health coverage and reducing the burden of travel for medical services in rural areas.
