The citizens of Amenfi Central Constituency are outraged and demanding that the Electoral Commission (EC) reverse its decision to disqualify Joana Gyan Cudjoe as the National Democratic Congress (NDC) parliamentary candidate for the constituency. They gathered in front of the EC office in Amenfi Central to protest and make their voices heard.

The protesters argue that Joana Gyan Cudjoe is a popular and capable candidate with the support of the majority in the constituency. They believe the EC’s decision to disqualify her is both unfair and undemocratic.

They are also questioning the EC’s stated reasons for disqualifying Joana Gyan Cudjoe, as they believe she meets all the necessary requirements to be a candidate. They are demanding that the EC provide concrete evidence to justify its decision.

The citizens held placards with messages such as “Bring Back Our Candidate,” “No Joana, No Vote,” and “We Demand Justice for Joana.” They chanted and sang songs of solidarity, expressing their determination to continue the protest until their demands are met.

The protest has caused disruptions in the area, with a police presence maintaining order. The citizens have made it clear they will not back down until the EC reconsiders its decision and allows Joana Gyan Cudjoe to be on the ballot for the upcoming election.

The EC has yet to respond to the protest, but the citizens remain hopeful their voices will be heard and justice will be served. They believe Joana Gyan Cudjoe is the best candidate for Amenfi Central and deserves the opportunity to represent them in Parliament.
