Asanteman Zongo Nkosuohene calls on Stakeholders to promote peace ahead of December 7 polls

Sarki Alhaji Abdullai Ali Barry, Asanteman Zongo Nkosuohene, has called on traditional leaders, religious bodies and opinion leaders across the nation to champion peace as Ghana prepares for the December polls.

With less than two weeks left for Ghanaians to vote in the presidential and parliamentary elections, Sarki Ali Barry identified peace as essential for a peaceful electoral process.

Addressing a section of the media in Kumasi, Sarki Abdullai Ali Barry, who doubles as Peace Ambassador, emphasized the critical role leaders play in the country as peace advocates.

He called for a collaboration to ensure a calm and orderliness before, during and after the election.

The Peace Ambassador underscored the need to sustain peace and unity among the youth , the electorate and politicians.

He urged the security agencies to exhibit professionalism and be committed to maintain law and order to ensure a smooth electoral process.

“Peace is the backbone of our existence, the foundation of development and it is essential to maintain harmony within the society and among the ethnic groups and I expect the security agencies to demonstrate their readiness to deliver on its mandate during and after the election”, he stated.

Sarki Ali Barry further called on the Electoral Commission to ensure free, fair and transparency during the election to avoid suspicion of bias or alliance with any political party. E N D
