The Electoral Commission (EC) has officially released the results of the 2024 presidential election, with one constituency’s results still pending.
In a statement issued on January 10, the EC detailed the total number of valid votes, rejected ballots, and the overall votes cast in the election.
This latest update builds on the initial announcement made on December 9, 2024, which was based on results from 267 out of 276 constituencies.
At the time, the EC noted that results from nine constituencies were outstanding. The latest update accounts for eight of those nine constituencies, leaving one unresolved.
According to the updated results, National Democratic Congress (NDC) candidate John Mahama secured victory with 6,591,790 votes, representing 56.42% of the total votes cast.
He defeated his closest contender, Dr Mahamudu Bawumia of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), who received 4,877,611 votes representing 41.75 per cent.
Nana Kwame Bediako, popularly known as Cheddar, the leader of the New Force Party, emerged as the leading candidate among the smaller parties, garnering 88,944 votes, or 0.76% of the total.
The EC has yet to announce the final outcome for the remaining constituency.
