The Ashanti Regional Directorate of the National Democratic Congress (NDC) has expressed concerns regarding the deteriorating condition of both the residence of the Ashanti Regional Minister and the presidential villa in the region.

Located at the Regional Coordinating Council, the seat of government, at Danyame in Kumasi has been neglected, leading to overgrown vegetation, structural deterioration, and housing reptiles.

Some of the window frames, air conditioners, and other installations in the structures have allegedly been stolen.

During a tour of the residence last Friday , the Ashanti Regional Chairman of the NDC, Andrews Augustus Nana Kwasi, expressed shock at the neglected state of the structures and the unkempt grounds.

He questioned how the former regional Minister, Hon. Simon Osei Mensah, could allow the state property to fall into such disrepair without taking responsibility.

Accompanying the Regional Chairman was the party’s Regional Secretary, Dr Frank Amoakohene, who urged the next regional Minister to investigate these issues and ensure that those responsible are held accountable under the law.
