NDC Supporters Demand Investigation into Alleged Biased MCE Selection In Krachi East Constituency

A group of NDC supporters in the Krachi East constituency are calling for an immediate investigation into the alleged biased selection of the Municipal Chief Executive (MCE).

They claim that the Oti Regional Minister Designate, Hon. Kudjo Gyapong, has unfairly excluded certain tribes, including the Ewe and Konkomba communities, from the final shortlist.

The supporters, led by Mr. Liko Simon, Ansah Esther, and Elimgan Gideon, are appealing to President John Dramani Mahama to renominate the final three shortlisted candidates, citing concerns of tribalism and manipulation.

They argue that the Ewe community, in particular, has been ignored despite having the largest population numbers in voting.

The group warns that if their concerns are not addressed, the NDC party will face consequences in the 2028 elections, and there will be no peace in the party.

They are urging the national executives to step in and settle the issue.

It’s worth noting that the Krachi East Municipal Assembly had previously confirmed a new MCE, although the details of the selection process are unclear .

The current controversy highlights the need for transparency and fairness in the selection process to avoid allegations of bias and tribalism.
