Atuabo Gas Processing Plant to Undergo Scheduled Maintenance

The Ministry of Energy and Green Transition has approved a request by Ghana National Gas Company Ltd. (Ghana Gas) to undertake a scheduled maintenance shutdown of the Atuabo Gas Processing Plant from August 16, 2025, to August 30, 2025.

This essential maintenance is part of the government’s commitment to ensuring the continued safe and reliable operation of the plant .

During the shutdown, Ghana Gas will temporarily suspend gas supply to facilitate critical inspections, repairs, and upgrades to key equipment and systems. These activities are designed to enhance the plant’s operational efficiency and overall performance .

To prevent disruptions in electricity supply, the Ministry has worked with key power sector stakeholders to put in place comprehensive mitigation measures. These include the strategic deployment of alternative fuel sources to ensure a stable and uninterrupted power supply nationwide .

The Ministry reaffirms its unwavering commitment to maintaining reliable power supply at all times. The public will be kept informed through regular updates on the progress of the ongoing maintenance .
