Ashanti Regional Minister Pledges Support for Bekwai Municipality

Dr. Frank Amoakohene ,Ashanti Regional Minister has assured the Bekwai Municipality of the government’s commitment to completing uncompleted projects and initiating new development projects.

Addressing staff of the municipality as part of his working visit tour of the municipality today, the Minister emphasized the government’s stance against illegal mining, encouraging responsible practices prioritizing environmental sustainability.

Dr. Amoakohene encouraged the Assembly to utilize 80% of the Common Fund to make a meaningful impact on residents.

He commended the Assembly’s staff and management for their work and urged cooperation with the MCE to implement legacy projects.

The Minister’s visit has brought hope to the people of Bekwai, who are eager to see development projects come to fruition.

On his part,the Member of Parliament for the area, Lawyer Raphael Opoku Adusei, stressed the need for collaboration between the Regional Minister and the Assembly to address pressing challenges affecting constituents.

According to the MP, the constituency is in development deficit, being it roads, health, sanitation, education, among other things.

He therefore appealed to the Minister to help bring development to the area.

The MCE for the area Hon Salifu Issaka Saliah also appealed for support in completing the Assembly’s bungalow and recruiting more social welfare staff.

The Bekwai Manhene, Nana Osei Kwadwo Ababio Asante, also appealed to the Ashanti Regional Minister, Dr. Frank Amoakohene, for a fair share of the national cake to address infrastructure deficits in the municipality.

The Bekwai Manhene highlighted the municipality’s infrastructure challenges, particularly in education, roads, and sanitation.
