The MTN Ghana Foundation has awarded 500 Bright Scholarships to deserving students and teachers for the 2025/2026 academic year. The awards ceremony, held at the Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology (KNUST), underscores MTN’s commitment to supporting education and national development.
The scholarship package includes tuition, accommodation, stipends, and laptops for 300 undergraduate students pursuing STEM and vocational fields. Additionally, 200 scholarships were awarded to teachers enrolled in public universities to upgrade their professional skills.
The Foundation received 3,691 applications, shortlisted 1,200 candidates, and selected 500 based on merit and need. MTN Ghana CEO Stephen Blewett emphasized that the scholarship is an investment in the beneficiaries’ dreams, potential, and Ghana’s future.
Blewett encouraged the beneficiaries to shine brightly, noting that their achievements would have a ripple effect, benefiting themselves, their families, communities, and the nation. The Bright Scholarship initiative, launched in 2018, aims to empower young Ghanaians to pursue their ambitions and overcome financial barriers.
The scholarship recipients expressed their gratitude to the MTN Ghana Foundation and pledged to make the most of the opportunity. Since its inception, the Foundation has supported over 1,000 students across the country, demonstrating its commitment to education and national development.
