As delegates of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) in the Ashanti Region prepare to engage with the government’s economic management team, they are being encouraged to hold Dr Mahamudu Bawumia, the head of the  economic management team accountable for the region’s perceived neglect.

A list of questions has been circulated, highlighting the region’s lack of significant infrastructure projects and economic development under the current administration.

The questions posed to the government include:

– Why has the Ashanti Region not received a single interchange despite significant support for the government?
– What is the status of legacy projects in the region, and why have none been completed?
– When will key projects such as the Krofrom Market, Afari Military Hospital, Komfo Anokye Maternity and Children’s Block, Kejetia Market Phase Two, and Boankra Inland Port be completed?
– How will the government address the economic challenges faced by the region, including the impact of inflation and currency fluctuations on businesses and pensioners?

Delegates are also being urged to ask about the status of several key infrastructure projects, including:

– Anloga Junction Interchange
– Bekwai Roundabout Interchange
– Santasi Interchange
– Suame Interchange
– Sofoline Interchange and Kumasi-Sunyani Road
– Accra-Kumasi Road

In addition to government projects, delegates are being asked to raise concerns about the party’s infrastructure, including the need for a befitting headquarters for the Ashanti Region and the National Secretariat.

The UP Tradition Institute, headed by Dr Razak Kojo Opoku , which circulated the questions, is calling on delegates to demand accountability from leadership and to prioritize the needs of the region. The institute emphasizes the importance of questioning the government’s track record and ensuring that the region’s concerns are addressed.
