The Municipal Chief Executive (MCE) for Tano South in the Ahafo Region , Hon. Emmanuel Kwame Frimpong, has reaffirmed the Assembly’s commitment to improving public service delivery with a visit to the site earmarked for the construction of a permanent Driver and Vehicle Licensing Authority (DVLA) office at Bechem.
The visit formed part of the project’s first official site meeting, bringing together the contractor, project consultant and officials of the DVLA to assess the project site, review the scope of works and agree on timelines for the execution of the facility.
Hon. Emmanuel Kwame Frimpong described the project as a significant milestone in the government’s efforts to strengthen public institutions and improve access to essential services for residents of Tano South and neighbouring communities.
According to the MCE, the construction of a permanent office complex will provide a modern and conducive working environment for DVLA personnel while enhancing the quality and efficiency of services such as vehicle registration, driver’s licence processing and other regulatory functions.
He stressed the importance of adhering to the approved specifications and project schedule, urging the contractor and consultants to ensure quality workmanship and timely completion of the facility.
“The provision of a permanent DVLA office is an important investment in the municipality’s development. It will not only improve working conditions for staff but also offer residents a more convenient and efficient service experience,” the MCE noted.
Officials of the DVLA expressed confidence that the collaborative approach among the Assembly, the contractor and the consultants would facilitate the smooth implementation of the project.
The permanent office is expected to replace the existing accommodation arrangement and provide a more suitable environment capable of meeting the increasing demand for DVLA services within the municipality.
Residents have welcomed the initiative, describing it as a major boost to local development and an indication of the government’s determination to improve public infrastructure and decentralise critical services.
The construction of the permanent DVLA office adds to the growing list of development projects being undertaken in Tano South under the leadership of Hon. Emmanuel Kwame Frimpong, aimed at improving public service delivery and accelerating socio-economic development across the municipality.
