The Oforikrom Municipal Assembly, in collaboration with the Bayport Savings and Loans Amaankrom Branch, is set to conduct a clean-up exercise as part of its monthly sanitation initiatives.
The event is scheduled to take place on Saturday, 11th October 2025, from 6:00 am to 11:00 am at the Kentinkron and Odum lorry station in the Ashanti Region. During the exercise, activities will include clearing weeds and wild grass, desilting choked drains, sweeping markets, public streets, lorry terminals, and open spaces, as well as collecting waste for disposal. Environmental Health Officers and Assembly members will supervise the clean-up in the affected communities.
In a statement signed by Simon Agangiba, Municipal Environmental Health Officer on behalf of the Municipal Chief Executive, Hon Anwel Sadat, participants are encouraged to take part in the exercise.
The notice emphasizes the importance of community cooperation and notes that all business activities within the affected areas will be closed during the clean-up period from 6:00 am to 11:00 am, except for food vendors and health facilities. The Oforikrom Municipal Assembly invites everyone to participate in the clean-up exercise, stressing the need for collective effort to maintain the municipality’s cleanliness.
