Amenfi Central District Assembly Invites Residents to 41st National Farmers’ Day Anniversary Celebration

 The Wassa Amenfi Central District Assembly has issued an official invitation to the good people of Amenfi Central to join the 41st National Farmers’ Day Anniversary Celebration.
This year’s event carries the inspiring theme “Feed Ghana, Eat Ghana, Secure the Future,” a call to recognize and honour the tireless efforts of farmers whose hard work continues to sustain the nation and secure food security for present and future generations.
According to the invitation released by the Assembly, the celebration is scheduled for Friday, 5th December 2025, at Amuni Durbar Grounds, a fitting setting for a celebration that brings together the district’s farming community, local leaders, and distinguished guests.
The ceremony is expected to be graced by an impressive line‑up of dignitaries, including:His Excellency John Dramani Mahama, President of the Republic of Ghana, whose presence will underscore the national significance of Farmers’ Day and the government’s commitment to agricultural development.
Hon. Joana Gyan Cudjoe, Member of Parliament for Amenfi Central, who is anticipated to deliver remarks highlighting parliamentary support for farmers and rural progress.
Hon. Peter Amponsah, District Chief Executive (DCE) for Amenfi Central, who will articulate the district’s vision for a secure agricultural future and outline local initiatives aligned with the theme “Feed Ghana, Eat Ghana, Secure the Future.”
In a statement, the Assembly emphasized the importance of coming together as one community to celebrate farmers — “the backbone of Ghana’s development.” The release noted that the event will feature a durbar of chiefs and farmers, cultural displays reflecting the rich heritage of the Wassa Amenfi Central area, presentation of awards to outstanding farmers, and keynote addresses focusing on enhancing productivity, value addition, and sustainability in agriculture.
“The future is secure when we support agriculture,” the invitation asserts, urging residents, farmers, market women, youth groups, and all stakeholders to participate actively in the celebration. It also highlights the Assembly’s resolve to strengthen the linkage between farming activities and local economic growth, thereby reinforcing food security and prosperity for the district and the country at large.
Preparations are underway to ensure a festive yet dignified atmosphere at the Amuni Durbar Grounds, with security and logistics arrangements being coordinated in collaboration with the Ghana Police Service and other state agencies. The Assembly has expressed gratitude to President Mahama and the other guest speakers for accepting the invitation, noting that their participation will inspire confidence and renewed commitment to agricultural transformation.
