The Ashanti Regional Office of the Public Utilities Regulatory Commission (PURC) has commended officials of the Electricity Company of Ghana (ECG) and Ghana Water Limited (GWL) for their cooperation and regulatory compliance in 2025.

The commendation was made during weeklong settlement meetings held by the Commission to resolve outstanding consumer complaints, mainly on billing-related issues. The meetings, which brought together representatives from the regulated utilities and PURC, provided stakeholders with an opportunity to engage with customers and address their concerns.

The PURC Ashanti Regional Office noted significant improvements in service delivery, particularly in the resolution of consumer complaints, and expressed appreciation for the efforts of ECG and GWL officials in working closely with the Commission to improve service quality.

The Regional Manager of PURC, Ashanti Region, Mr. Edward Kingston Boduah, praised ECG and GWL for their commitment to addressing consumer concerns and urged them to continue this trend, especially during the holiday periods.

“We appreciate the efforts of ECG and GWL in working with us to improve service delivery and resolve outstanding complaints. We encourage you to put in place sufficient plans to attend to consumer issues during the festive season,” he said.

The PURC Ashanti Regional Office also urged consumers to honour their monthly obligations to prevent service disconnection and to eschew all forms of illegal connection in the region.
