Marking exactly one year since the landmark 2024 General Elections, the Ashanti Regional Minister, Dr. Frank Amoakohene, has concluded a series of high-profile end-of-year engagements across key constituencies in the Ashanti Region.

The tour, which saw the Minister visiting Juaben, Effiduase Asokore, and Kumawu, was designed to strengthen the bond between the government and its grassroots supporters while providing a comprehensive update on the nation’s developmental trajectory.

Speaking on behalf of His Excellency, President John Dramani Mahama, Dr. Frank Amoakohene expressed profound gratitude to the party’s base for their “unwavering commitment, sacrifice, and hard work” during and after the 2024 transition. He underscored that the administration’s successes over the past twelve months are a direct result of the resilience and loyalty shown by those at the local level.

The Minister’s visit served as a platform to articulate the government’s progress on several “Big Push” infrastructure projects and economic reforms. In lively town hall-style meetings, Dr. Amoakohene detailed how the government is prioritizing the completion of stalled projects to ensure no community is left behind.

“Our mission is clear: to deliver on a shared vision of inclusive development, economic stability, and improved livelihoods,” the Minister stated during his address in the Effiduase Asokore constituency. “We are here to listen, to update, and to reaffirm that the grassroots remain the heartbeat of this government’s agenda.”

Key highlights of the government updates included:

Infrastructure Reforms: Updates on road networks and healthcare facilities under the “Big Push” initiative.

Economic Stability: Briefings on interventions aimed at curbing inflation and supporting local businesses through the 24-hour economy policy.

Accountability: A reaffirmation of the government’s commitment to transparency and continuous dialogue with stakeholders.

Strengthening the Grassroots Bond
The scenes from Juaben and Kumawu reflected a festive yet focused atmosphere.

Supporters gathered in large numbers to interact with the Minister, sharing feedback on local needs and celebrating the gains made since the election. These engagements are part of a broader regional strategy to maintain “grassroots participation” and ensure that government actions are aligned with the realities of the Ghanaian people.

Dr. Amoakohene emphasized that the “strong bond and collective determination” witnessed during these meetings are the driving forces behind the administration’s mission. He noted that the resilience of the party base in the Ashanti Region remains a cornerstone of the national effort to build a better future.

Forward-Looking Commitment
As the year draws to a close, the Regional Minister’s tour signals a proactive approach to governance—one that moves beyond the capital to the heart of the constituencies. By fostering a culture of accountability and direct engagement, Dr. Amoakohene is ensuring that the promises made during the 2024 campaign are being translated into tangible results for all Ghanaians.

The engagements concluded with a call for continued unity. The Minister reminded the base that while much has been achieved in the first year, the focus remains on long-term stability and the consolidation of the democratic and economic gains that have defined the current administration.
