Philanthropist Donates Toyota Hilux to Foase District Police Command to Boost Security Operations

The Foase District Police Command in the Ashanti Region has received a significant boost to its operational capacity yesterday, with the donation of a Toyota Hilux pickup vehicle from a well-known philanthropist and Chief Executive Officer of the Harrison Joy Group of Companies, Mr. Jerry Henry Harrison Quaicou.

The donation, initiated by Foase District Police Commander Superintendent Thomas Badu-Poku, aims to strengthen policing and improve the efficiency of police operations in the district.

The vehicle was presented to support police operations in Foase and its surrounding communities, enhancing patrol duties and rapid response to security challenges. Mr. Quaicou, speaking at the presentation ceremony, stated that the donation forms part of his company’s commitment to supporting security agencies and contributing to societal safety and development. He emphasized the critical role a well-resourced Police Service plays in maintaining peace, law, and order, as well as protecting lives and property.

Receiving the vehicle on behalf of the Ghana Police Service, the Ashanti Regional Police Commander, DCOP Mr. Arthur Osei Akoto, expressed profound appreciation to the donor. He described the gesture as timely and impactful, noting that the Toyota Hilux would significantly boost the operational capacity of the Foase Police Command and enhance effective service delivery to the public.

The presentation ceremony was attended by notable officials including the Deputy Ashanti Regional Police Commander, ACP Mr. Francis Kweku Somian; the Asokwa Divisional Police Commander, ACP Dela Dzansi; the Asokwa Divisional Crime Officer, Superintendent Joseph Aidoo; the Regional Officer in Charge of Logistics, DSP Emmanuel Kwarteng Amanning; the Foase District Police Commander, Superintendent Thomas Badu-Poku; and the Regional Officer, ASP Isaac Babayi, along with other senior officers.

The Ashanti Regional Police Command commended Mr. Jerry Henry Harrison Quaicou and the Harrison Joy Group of Companies for their generous support. The command also encouraged other individuals and corporate institutions to partner with the Police in promoting security and public safety, highlighting the importance of collaborative efforts in enhancing community protection and development.

The donation is expected to improve the mobility and efficiency of the Foase Police Command, enabling better patrol services and quicker responses to security incidents, ultimately contributing to enhanced peace and safety in the district and its environs.
