In a profound display of compassion and communal support, the Ashanti Regional Minister, Dr. Frank Amoakohene, joined forces with the Frank Care Foundation yesterday to undertake a significant philanthropic mission across the Kwadaso municipality and Bosomtwi District.

The outreach, led by the Foundation’s Chairperson, Mrs. Juliet Amoakohene, focused on providing essential support to the Kumasi Cheshire Home and the Kwadaso Rehabilitation Centre for Children with Disabilities.

The exercise was organized to coincide with the birthday of Mrs. Amoakohene and to share the spirit of the festive season with those often overlooked by society.

The first leg of the donation exercise took place at the Kumasi Cheshire Home, an institution renowned for its dedicated service to individuals grappling with mental health challenges and those on the path to recovery from substance abuse and the Kwadaso Rehabilitation Centre for Children with Disabilities.

The atmosphere was one of warmth and joy as the Minister and his wife interacted with the children and staff, reaffirming their commitment to ensuring that every child, regardless of physical or cognitive challenges, feels valued by the state and the community.

The team subsequently visited Touch a Life Care Centre and Grace Foundation Orphanage in the Bosomtwi District.

The delegation presented a variety of essential items aimed at augmenting the daily operations of the facility and improving the quality of life for its residents.

Speaking during the presentation, Dr. Amoakohene emphasized that the outreach was a moment of “reflection, compassion, and gratitude.” He noted that the festive season serves as a poignant reminder of the collective duty to uplift the less privileged.

The exercise was bolstered by the presence of several high-profile officials and community leaders, signaling a unified front in the quest for social welfare. Notable attendees included:

Hon. Evans Twumasi, District Chief Executive (DCE) for Sekyere South.

Hon. Faisal Dauda, Deputy Political Coordinator.

Judge Louis Lamis, whose participation added a layer of comic and moral weight to the initiative.

The Kwadaso Constituency Chairman and Executives, along with members of KAFA, who provided grassroots organizational support.

The presence of these dignitaries underscored the importance of institutional collaboration in addressing the needs of the vulnerable.

Beyond the physical donations, Dr. Frank Amoakohene used the platform to address a pressing national concern: the scourge of substance abuse. Addressing the youth and caregivers, the Regional Minister delivered a somber message on the devastating effects of drug addiction on the younger generation. He called for a “collective responsibility” involving families, religious institutions, and community leaders to create a protective environment for the youth.

“True development is not merely reflected in the height of our buildings or the quality of our roads,” Dr. Amoakohene remarked. “It is measured by the depth of our compassion and how we, as a society, care for our most vulnerable citizens.”

The Minister concluded the day by lauding the Frank Care Foundation team, as well as the frontline caregivers and volunteers at both institutions. He described their continued commitment to humanity as the backbone of Ghana’s social safety net.

Mrs. Juliet Amoakohene expressed her heartfelt gratitude to all partners who supported the exercise, stating that there was no better way to celebrate her birth anniversary than by putting smiles on the faces of those in need.

This engagement stands as a testament to the belief that leadership is most effective when it is rooted in service and empathy, ensuring that no citizen is left behind in the journey toward national progress.
