Supporters of the ruling National Democratic Congress (NDC) in the Volta Region have described Mr. Johnson Samlafo as a formidable candidate for the position of Volta Regional Deputy Treasurer, citing his strong academic background, professional experience, and proven party loyalty.
Speaking to the media, party members said Mr. Samlafo’s rich curriculum vitae represents “a political currency the Volta NDC can spend anywhere,” particularly at a time when discipline, accountability, and prudent financial management are critical to the party’s growth.
According to supporters, “When it comes to financial management and accountability, Johnson Samlafo is an iroko tree—steady, reliable, and unshakable. The party can rely on his expertise and integrity to safeguard its resources.”
Mr. Samlafo, who is yet to officially declare his intention but is widely tipped to contest the Volta Regional Deputy Treasurer position, holds a Bachelor of Commerce in Accounting and an MBA in Oil and Gas Management from the University of Cape Coast, as well as a Bachelor of Laws degree from Central University College. He is currently undergoing professional legal training at the Ghana School of Law, Makola Campus.
His professional experience includes serving as an Accountant at Agbogba Community Hospital and later as Principal Accountant at Prampram Senior High School, giving him extensive hands-on experience in public sector finance and administration.
Beyond his professional credentials, supporters highlighted his political journey, including his current role as Deputy Volta Regional Youth Organizer, his membership on the Volta Regional Youth Working Committee, and his leadership roles within the Tertiary Education Institutions Network (TEIN) at the University of Cape Coast. They described him as selfless, approachable, and deeply connected to the grassroots.
“A tree does not make a forest alone, but Johnson Samlafo brings strength and stability to the entire Volta NDC family,” one supporter said. “His professional background is not just a CV, but a tool for progress, transparency, and accountability.”
With his blend of financial expertise, legal knowledge, and grassroots political experience, many party faithful believe Johnson Samlafo is well-positioned to serve effectively as Volta Regional Deputy Treasurer, helping to entrench transparency and strengthen internal financial governance within the Volta NDC.
