The Ghana Education Service (GES) has officially announced a supplementary aptitude test for qualified teachers who applied for the 2025 promotion exercise but were unable to sit for the initial examination due to circumstances beyond their control.
In an immediate release issued by the Public Relations Unit of the Service, GES management stated that the supplementary examination forms part of efforts to ensure fairness and provide equal opportunity to all eligible teachers seeking advancement within the education sector.
Second Chance for Affected Applicants
According to the statement, the supplementary aptitude test has been scheduled specifically for teachers who registered for the 2025 promotion aptitude test but missed the main sitting due to unforeseen challenges.
“The management of the Ghana Education Service wishes to inform qualified teachers who applied for the 2025 promotion aptitude test but could not take the test due to circumstances beyond their control that a supplementary aptitude test has been scheduled for them,” the release noted.
This move is expected to bring relief to many teachers across the country who expressed concern about missing out on promotion opportunities as a result of logistical, health, or other unavoidable issues.

Tuesday, February 17, 2026, at 9:00 a.m.

Promotion as a Key Motivation Tool
