As Muslims across Ghana and the world begin the sacred month of Ramadan, Hon. Yaw Isham Alhassan Bonsu, Ashanti Regional Staffer in charge of Political Coordination and Ashanti Regional Chairman Hopeful of the National Democratic Congress (NDC), has extended heartfelt Ramadan wishes to all Islamic faithful, particularly in the Ashanti Region.

In a message filled with warmth, reflection and solidarity, Hon. Bonsu described Ramadan as a divine season of spiritual renewal, discipline, sacrifice and compassion—values that remain essential not only to the Islamic faith but also to the broader development of Ghana’s society.
Ramadan: A Month of Faith and National Reflection
Hon. Yaw Isham Alhassan Bonsu noted that Ramadan is more than a period of fasting; it is a sacred opportunity for believers to strengthen their relationship with Allah, deepen humility, and demonstrate kindness toward fellow citizens.
“Ramadan Kareem is a season of spiritual elevation,” he stated. “It reminds us of the power of patience, prayer, generosity and selflessness. These virtues are urgently needed in our communities and in our national life.”
He encouraged Muslims to use the month to pray not only for personal blessings but also for peace, stability and progress in Ghana, especially at a time when unity and collective purpose are needed for national transformation.
Commending the Muslim Community in Ashanti
Hon. Bonsu paid glowing tribute to the Muslim community in the Ashanti Region for their continued contributions to the region’s social cohesion, commerce, education and peaceful coexistence.
According to him, Muslims in Ashanti have consistently played a vital role in promoting harmony and mutual respect among different religious and cultural groups.
“Our Muslim brothers and sisters have always been pillars of peace and enterprise in the Ashanti Region,” he said. “Your contribution to community development, business growth and interfaith unity is commendable and deeply appreciated.”
Call for Compassion and Support for the Vulnerable
In the spirit of Ramadan, Hon. Bonsu urged all citizens to extend kindness to the less privileged, emphasizing the importance of charity, empathy and communal responsibility.
He encouraged individuals, families, and institutions to support the needy, especially during the month when acts of giving carry profound spiritual significance.
“This is the time to remember the poor, the sick, the orphaned and those burdened by hardship,” he added. “Let us be each other’s keeper, not only during Ramadan but throughout the year.”
A Message of Hope and Political Commitment
As an emerging leader within the NDC in the Ashanti Region, Hon. Yaw Isham Alhassan Bonsu reaffirmed his commitment to grassroots unity, inclusive leadership and political coordination that prioritizes the welfare of all citizens, regardless of religion or ethnicity.
He stressed that the NDC remains committed to building a Ghana where justice, opportunity and development reach every community.
“Ramadan teaches us unity and purpose,” he said. “In the same way, we must come together as one people, committed to national progress, fairness and shared prosperity.”
Ramadan Kareem to All
Hon. Bonsu concluded his message by wishing all Muslims a blessed and peaceful Ramadan, filled with answered prayers, spiritual growth and abundant blessings.
“On behalf of the National Democratic Congress and as a humble servant of the Ashanti Region, I wish all Muslims a fruitful Ramadan. May Allah grant us strength, mercy and guidance throughout this holy month. Ramadan Kareem and Mubarak.”
