The Ashanti Regional Minister, Dr. Frank Amoakohene, has emphasized the importance of nurturing young talents in sports, particularly football, to contribute to the development of Ghana’s national team, the Black Stars, and the nation as a whole.
Dr. Amoakohene graced the final match of the Quarter Finals of the Under-17 Ashantifest Inter District Soccer Competition, held at Ahenkro in the Afigya Kwabre North District. He noted that every individual is unique and possesses a special gift or talent, but often struggles to discover and develop it.
The Minister stressed that football has the power to bring people together, evoking excitement and a sense of belonging, regardless of one’s background or location.
He urged the youth to combine their passion for sports with academic pursuits, avoiding drugs and negative behaviors.
Dr. Amoakohene reiterated his commitment to the tournament, which aims to unearth and nurture young talents, providing opportunities for them to shine and contribute to Ghana’s sporting glory.
The Ashantifest Inter District Soccer Competition has become a platform for discovering and developing footballing skills, promoting unity and healthy competition among the youth.
