Ashanti Fest 2026 Launched: Minister Hails MTN Ghana’s Unwavering Support

The Ashanti Regional Minister, Dr Frank Amoakohene, has commended MTN Ghana for its unwavering commitment to the annual Ashanti Fest, describing the partnership as instrumental in promoting culture, unity, and community development across the region.

Speaking at the official launch of the 2026 edition of Ashanti Fest, held at Kaasi in Kumasi, Dr. Amoakohene underscored the pivotal role MTN Ghana has played over the years in sustaining and expanding the festival.

He noted that the telecommunications giant has consistently provided full funding and sponsorship, ensuring the continuity and growth of what has become one of the region’s most celebrated cultural events.
According to the Minister, Ashanti Fest is more than a festive occasion; it is a strategic platform that fosters unity among communities while showcasing the rich and diverse cultural heritage of the Ashanti people. He emphasized that the festival continues to serve as a vital avenue for promoting identity, tourism, and socio-economic development within the region.
“The importance of this festival cannot be overstated. It brings our people together, strengthens our communal bonds, and projects our cultural values to the rest of the world,” Dr. Amoakohene stated. “MTN Ghana’s consistent support has been crucial in sustaining this vision and expanding its reach.”

He further applauded the organizers and stakeholders for their dedication to preserving tradition while embracing modernity, noting that development efforts must go hand in hand with cultural preservation. “As we pursue development and modernization, it is essential that we safeguard our culture and traditions. MTN Ghana has demonstrated a strong commitment to supporting this vision,” he added.
Dr. Amoakohene also called on residents, stakeholders, and visitors to actively participate in the lineup of activities scheduled for the 2026 celebration, urging collective involvement to ensure a vibrant and memorable festival.
On his part, the Northern Sector Manager of MTN Ghana, Simon Amoh, reaffirmed the company’s dedication to supporting initiatives that promote culture, unity, and regional development. He described the launch of the 2026 Ashanti Fest as a testament to the enduring relationship between MTN Ghana and the Ashanti Region.
Mr. Amoh revealed that this year’s edition will feature a variety of exciting and engaging activities designed to attract broad participation and enhance community involvement. He encouraged the public to take full advantage of the events and contribute to making the festival a resounding success.
He also expressed gratitude to dignitaries, traditional authorities, stakeholders, organizers, and members of the media for their continued support and collaboration in sustaining the festival over the years.
