Residents of Asuokor, Domeabra and its surrounding communities in the Ahafo Ano South West District in the Ashanti region are set to benefit from ongoing road rehabilitation works aimed at improving accessibility, safety, and economic activity in the area.
The District Chief Executive (DCE) for Ahafo Ano South West, Hon Abubakar Sadik, has assured residents that the reshaping of deteriorating roads in the enclave will be executed to high standards, bringing much-needed relief to commuters, farmers, and traders who have long endured the challenges posed by the poor road network.
The intervention forms part of broader efforts by the district assembly to enhance infrastructure and promote inclusive development.
For years, the deplorable condition of roads linking Asuokor to nearby communities has hindered the movement of goods and services, particularly affecting farmers who rely on these routes to transport produce to market centers.
Speaking during an inspection of the ongoing works, Mr. Sadik expressed satisfaction with the progress made so far, noting that the initiative demonstrates the assembly’s commitment to addressing critical infrastructure deficits within the district.
“The state of the roads has been a major concern for residents and stakeholders. We are pleased that work is underway, and I want to assure the people that quality will not be compromised.
Our goal is to make these roads accessible and safe for everyone,” he stated.
The DCE emphasized that improving road infrastructure remains a key priority for the assembly, as it directly impacts economic growth and the overall well-being of residents.
He noted that better roads would facilitate easier transportation, reduce travel time, and boost commercial activities across the district.
In addition to the ongoing works in Asuokor, Mr. Sadik disclosed that the road behind the Domeabra school is also undergoing reshaping. He further revealed that plans are far advanced to extend the rehabilitation exercise to roads within Domeabra township once the current phase is completed.
Residents have welcomed the development with optimism, expressing hope that the intervention will bring lasting relief and open up the area for increased economic opportunities.
Many believe the improved roads will not only enhance mobility but also attract investment and development to the communities.
The reshaping project is expected to significantly improve connectivity within the district, reinforcing the assembly’s agenda of ensuring equitable development and improved living conditions for all residents.
As work continues, the people of Asuokor and Domeabra remain hopeful that the initiative will mark the beginning of a sustained effort to transform the district’s road network and support its long-term growth.
