The Ashanti Regional Minister, Dr. Frank Amoakohene, has paid glowing tribute to cadres of the National Democratic Congress (NDC) for their immense sacrifices, loyalty and unwavering commitment to the growth and sustenance of the party over the years.

Speaking at the national celebration of Cadres Day 2026, in Kumasi today Dr. Amoakohene described cadres as the backbone of the NDC, whose dedication and resilience have helped preserve the values and principles upon which the party was founded.
The event brought together the National Chairman of the NDC, the General Secretary, the Deputy General Secretary, the Ashanti Regional Chairman, the Regional Political Coordinator, Metropolitan, Municipal and District Chief Executives (MMDCEs), party executives and cadres from across the Ashanti Region.

The celebration was held under the theme: “Ensuring Transparent Governance: The Role of Cadres.”
Addressing participants, Dr. Amoakohene emphasized that cadres remain an indispensable force within the party and continue to play a crucial role in promoting accountability, discipline and good governance.
According to him, the contributions of cadres extend beyond partisan politics, noting that their commitment to service and national development has positively impacted communities across the country.
“Cadres represent our roots, our history, our sacrifice and our loyalty. Their dedication and unwavering commitment have sustained the ideals of the NDC and continue to inspire generations of party faithful,” he stated.
The Regional Minister noted that as the governing party, the NDC has a responsibility to uphold transparency and accountability in public service, adding that cadres must continue to serve as ambassadors of integrity and defenders of the party’s core values.
He urged members of the party to remain united and focused on supporting the government’s development agenda, stressing that collective efforts would be required to deliver on the expectations of Ghanaians.
Dr. Amoakohene further reaffirmed the commitment of the government and party leadership to promoting good governance, inclusiveness and people-centered development.
He said the theme for this year’s celebration was timely, as it highlighted the critical role cadres play in ensuring that public institutions remain accountable and responsive to the needs of citizens.
The gathering also provided an opportunity for party leaders to reflect on the sacrifices made by founding members and long-serving cadres who contributed significantly to the growth of the NDC and Ghana’s democratic development.
The National Chairman and other party leaders present commended cadres for their steadfast loyalty and encouraged them to continue mobilizing support for the party while promoting peace, unity and national cohesion.
Dr. Amoakohene concluded by expressing appreciation to all cadres, both past and present, for their invaluable contributions to the NDC and the nation.
“To all cadres, past and present, we salute your sacrifices and contributions to the growth of our party and the progress of our nation,” he said.
The celebration ended with renewed calls for unity, transparency and active participation in governance as the NDC seeks to advance its development agenda and strengthen democratic accountability in the country.
