The District Chief Executive (DCE) for Ahafo Ano South West, Hon. Abubakar Sedik, has donated customised Ghana jerseys to stakeholders in the district to boost support for the Black Stars ahead of their crucial FIFA World Cup group match against Croatia.

The presentation, held at Mankranso on Saturday, June 27, formed part of efforts by the DCE to promote patriotism, strengthen community unity and encourage residents to rally behind the national team in their quest to progress to the next stage of the tournament.
Speaking during the presentation, Hon. Sedik described football as a unifying force capable of bringing people together irrespective of political affiliation, religion or social status. He urged Ghanaians to demonstrate unwavering support for the Black Stars, stressing that backing the national team was a collective national responsibility.
“The Black Stars represent the hopes and aspirations of every Ghanaian. This is the time for us to stand together, show our patriotism and cheer them on to victory,” he said.
The DCE also announced plans for a public viewing of the match at the Ahafo Ano South West District Assembly Forecourt, inviting residents, football enthusiasts and stakeholders to gather and watch the game together.
He explained that the initiative was aimed at creating an atmosphere of togetherness while providing an opportunity for residents to celebrate and support the national team as one community.
According to him, beyond football, such gatherings help strengthen social bonds, promote peaceful coexistence and reinforce the spirit of unity within the district.
The beneficiaries expressed gratitude to Hon. Abubakar Sedik for the thoughtful gesture, describing the customised jerseys as a symbol of his commitment to community development, inclusiveness and national unity.
They pledged their support for the Black Stars and expressed optimism that the team would secure victory against Croatia.
