The Municipal Chief Executive (MCE) for Bibiani-Anhwiaso-Bekwai, Mr Sebastian Obeng, has called on Ghanaians to embrace unity, forgiveness and peace as the country continues to recover from recent disasters and works towards sustainable national development.
He made the call during the observance of the National Day of Prayer and Thanksgiving held at Bibiani in the Western North Region on Thursday.
Mr Obeng said the occasion was more than a ceremonial gathering, describing it as an opportunity for Ghanaians to renew their faith in God, reflect on the nation’s progress and reaffirm their commitment to national development.
He urged residents of the municipality to remain steadfast in prayer and thanksgiving while supporting government efforts to foster peace, unity and development across the country.
“The event reminds us of the need for spiritual renewal, moral discipline and national unity as we work together to build the Ghana we all desire,” he stated.
The MCE said the theme for this year’s celebration, “Resetting Our Values to Build the Ghana We Want,” challenged citizens to reflect on their individual and collective responsibilities towards national transformation.
He stressed that forgiveness, tolerance and peaceful coexistence remained essential ingredients for accelerated development.
Mr Obeng expressed appreciation to traditional authorities, religious leaders, security agencies, assembly members, students, teachers and residents for participating in the event.
He also commended the Member of Parliament for Bibiani-Anhwiaso-Bekwai Constituency, the Municipal Coordinating Director, heads of departments, corporate organisations, the media and members of the Municipal Planning Committee for their contributions towards the successful organisation of the programme.
According to him, the collective efforts of stakeholders demonstrated the municipality’s commitment to promoting harmony and development.
He further acknowledged the role of Christian and Muslim leaders in promoting peace and encouraging moral values within the municipality.
Mr Obeng prayed for God’s continued blessings, protection and guidance for the people of Bibiani-Anhwiaso-Bekwai and Ghana as a whole.
He expressed optimism that the day would inspire renewed hope, strengthen national unity and promote sustainable development across the country.
