A member of the Ashanti Regional Communications Team of the National Democratic Congress (NDC), Umar Harris, has officially declared his intention to contest for the position of Deputy Constituency Communications Officer for the Asawase Constituency in the Ashanti region ahead of the party’s internal elections.
In his declaration, Mr. Harris described himself as a committed and active member of the NDC who has consistently championed the party’s ideals through radio and television discussions, social media engagement, and grassroots mobilisation across the Ashanti Region.
He said his experience on the regional communications team has equipped him with the skills to effectively communicate the party’s policies, counter political misinformation, and strengthen the NDC’s relationship with supporters at the community level.
Mr. Harris noted that Asawase remains one of the NDC’s strongest constituencies and therefore requires a vibrant, disciplined, and proactive communication structure capable of projecting the achievements and vision of the party.
Outlining his vision, he pledged to strengthen the party’s communication machinery from the branch level through the constituency and national structures to ensure effective coordination and consistent messaging.
He also promised to continue promoting the policies and programmes of the NDC, the vision of President John Dramani Mahama, and the work of the Asawase Member of Parliament through regular appearances on radio and other media platforms.
According to him, effective communication is essential to sustaining the party’s dominance in the constituency and deepening grassroots engagement.
Mr. Harris appealed to delegates to entrust him with the mandate, assuring them of dedication, loyalty, and hard work in advancing the communication agenda of the party in Asawase.
He expressed confidence that, with the support of party members and the will of Allah, he would contribute significantly to strengthening the NDC’s communication front and consolidating its political fortunes in the constituency.
