As the National Democratic Congress (NDC) prepares for its internal constituency elections, party faithful have intensified calls for delegates to elect Lambert Akandoe Nchobire as Atwima Nwabiagya North Constituency Secretary, citing his extensive experience, commitment to the party, and proven leadership credentials.
Supporters describe Mr. Nchobire as a dedicated grassroots politician whose years of active service have equipped him with the knowledge and administrative skills required to strengthen the party’s structures and improve its performance at the constituency level.
According to his campaign team, Lambert’s political journey within the NDC spans several years, during which he has served in various capacities.
He began as Branch Youth Organiser for the Akropong OT SHS before serving as Branch Secretary and later Branch Chairman of the Akropong R/C School Branch.
He also led the Progressive Youth NDC in Akropong, demonstrating his commitment to youth mobilisation and grassroots political organisation.
His contribution to the party’s electoral successes has been significant.
In 2016, he served as Director of Operations for Youth for Mahama in the Ashanti Region, coordinating campaign activities aimed at increasing youth participation.
Mr. Nchobire has also served as a Polling Agent during the 2008 and 2012 elections, a member of the 2016 Election Collation Team, and a member of the NDC Monitoring Team during the 2020 elections in Koforidua.
His election management expertise earned him a place on the Ashanti Regional Elections Committee in 2024, where he contributed to the planning and supervision of the party’s electoral processes.
Beyond serving in election operations, Lambert has played a key role in building the capacity of party officials.
He trained Offinso North Constituency Executives on election procedures and also facilitated training programmes for Kwabre East Constituency Polling Agents during both the first and second phases of the 2024 elections.
He further served as the Collation Officer for President John Dramani Mahama in the Atwima Nwabiagya North Constituency during the 2024 general election.
His supporters also credit him with mobilising financial and logistical resources to support the NDC’s parliamentary candidate during the 2024 electioneering campaign, describing him as one of the party’s most resourceful and dependable organisers.
Outside politics, Lambert Akandoe Nchobire is a banker and entrepreneur, with experience in the financial sector and strong connections within the business community.
His supporters believe this professional background gives him an added advantage in administration, financial management, organisational development and resource mobilisation.
They argue that the office of Constituency Secretary requires discipline, efficiency, sound record-keeping and effective coordination—qualities they say Mr. Nchobire has consistently demonstrated throughout his years of service to the party.
Calling on delegates to support his candidature, members of his campaign maintain that electing Lambert Akandoe Nchobire would provide the constituency with “a smart, dedicated and results-driven secretary” capable of strengthening the administrative machinery of the NDC and positioning the party for greater electoral success in future contests.
