The Kumasi Senior High Technical School (KSHTS) located at Patasi inside Kumasi in the Ashanti Region has announced the launch of activities marking its 35th Anniversary Celebration and Fundraising Campaign, with management calling on old students, corporate organisations, development partners and the general public to support the school’s vision of advancing technical education.
The official launch is scheduled for Saturday, August 8, 2026, at the KSHTS Assembly Hall at 10:00 a.m.
Speaking ahead of the event, the Headmaster of the school, Mr. Yaw Twimasi, said the anniversary celebration would not only commemorate the institution’s rich history but also serve as a platform to mobilise resources for critical infrastructure and academic development projects.
According to him, the celebration is being held under the theme: “Honouring the Past, Equipping the Present, Engineering the Future: Through 21st Century Secondary Technical Education for Academic Excellence.”
Mr. Twimasi explained that the theme reflects the school’s determination to preserve its proud legacy while embracing innovation, modern technology and practical skills training to prepare students for the future.
He noted that for the past 35 years, Kumasi Senior High Technical School has remained one of Ghana’s leading second-cycle institutions, producing thousands of professionals, engineers, technicians, entrepreneurs, public servants and leaders who continue to contribute significantly to national development.
“The anniversary is an opportunity to celebrate our achievements, honour those who laid the foundation of this great institution and chart a new path towards making KSHTS one of the leading technical schools in Africa,” he stated.
The Headmaster indicated that the fundraising exercise forms a key component of the anniversary programme and is intended to mobilise financial support towards improving teaching and learning facilities, upgrading workshops and laboratories, expanding infrastructure and creating a more conducive environment for students and staff.
He stressed that the rapidly changing demands of science, technology and engineering education require continuous investment in modern equipment and learning resources to enable students to compete favourably in today’s global economy.
Mr. Twimasi therefore appealed to government agencies, corporate institutions, alumni associations, philanthropists and friends of the school to actively participate in the fundraising campaign.
“We are inviting all stakeholders to partner with us as we invest in the next generation of engineers, innovators and technical professionals who will drive Ghana’s industrial transformation,” he said.
He further disclosed that the anniversary celebration would feature a series of activities aimed at promoting academic excellence, strengthening alumni relations and showcasing the achievements of the school over the past three and a half decades.
Mr. Twimasi expressed confidence that the celebration would provide an opportunity for former students to reconnect with their alma mater while contributing towards projects that would benefit the future generations.
He encouraged the public to attend the launch ceremony and support the school’s efforts to strengthen technical and vocational education.
According to him, the anniversary celebration represents not only a milestone for Kumasi Senior High Technical School but also a reaffirmation of its commitment to producing disciplined, skilled and innovative graduates capable of contributing meaningfully to Ghana’s socio-economic development.
