The District Chief Executive (DCE) for Atwima Mponua, Hon. Isshak Ibrahim, has reaffirmed his administration’s commitment to accelerating development in the district through improved security, prudent financial management and enhanced sanitation.
He made the remarks after participating in the first 2026 Ashanti Regional Coordinating Council (RCC) meeting, which brought together Metropolitan, Municipal and District Chief Executives (MMDCEs), Heads of Departments and other key stakeholders to deliberate on critical issues affecting the development of the Ashanti Region.
At the meeting, Hon. Ibrahim presented a comprehensive Situational Report on the Atwima Mponua District, highlighting the current state of affairs in three key sectors—security, finance and sanitation.
According to him, the presentation provided an overview of the district’s achievements, ongoing interventions, existing challenges and strategic measures being implemented to strengthen service delivery and promote sustainable development.
On security, the DCE outlined efforts being made to maintain peace and protect lives and property, stressing that a stable security environment remains essential for attracting investment and supporting socio-economic growth.
Touching on the district’s financial management, he noted that the Assembly is committed to prudent utilisation of public resources, strengthening revenue mobilisation and ensuring transparency and accountability in the execution of development projects.
Regarding sanitation, Hon. Ibrahim indicated that the Assembly continues to intensify measures aimed at improving environmental cleanliness, promoting proper waste management and enhancing public health across communities in the district.
He described the RCC meeting as a valuable platform that enabled Metropolitan, Municipal and District Assemblies to exchange ideas, share best practices and strengthen collaboration in addressing common developmental challenges.
The DCE expressed optimism that the deliberations would contribute significantly to improving governance and service delivery across the region.
Hon. Ibrahim further reaffirmed his commitment to working closely with the Ashanti Regional Coordinating Council, the central government, development partners and other stakeholders to advance the district’s development agenda.
He stressed that collaboration and effective coordination among all stakeholders remain key to achieving meaningful and sustainable progress.
The Atwima Mponua DCE assured residents that his administration would continue to pursue policies and programmes that will make the district safer, cleaner, more prosperous and resilient.
He called on the people of the district to support the Assembly’s development initiatives, emphasising that collective effort and community participation are essential to achieving the district’s long-term development goals.
