MTN Ghana has reaffirmed its commitment to driving digital inclusion, economic growth and community development through continued investments in network expansion, enterprise solutions, customer experience and social impact initiatives.
The commitment was reiterated during MTN Ghana’s Ashanti Regional Media and Stakeholder Engagement held in Kumasi as part of activities marking the company’s 30th anniversary celebration under the theme, “30 Years of Progress, Powered by You.”
Addressing media practitioners, regulators, customers and other stakeholders, the Chief Enterprise Officer of MTN Ghana, Angela Mensah-Poku, expressed appreciation for the continued support and partnership stakeholders in the region have provided over the years.
She noted that MTN’s 30-year journey has been shaped by the trust and support of customers, communities, partners and stakeholders across the country. “As we celebrate 30 years of progress, we remain focused on building a trusted digital platform that connects people, empowers businesses, supports communities and contributes meaningfully to Ghana’s socio-economic development,” she said.
Angela Mensah-Poku highlighted MTN’s continued contribution to Ghana’s development, noting that the company currently contributes approximately six percent of the country’s total tax revenue while making significant investments in infrastructure and digital technologies that support the country’s digital economy.
She disclosed that MTN Ghana is investing US$1.1 billion over the next three years, including approximately US$380 million in 2026, to enhance network capacity, improve service quality and strengthen the resilience of its infrastructure to meet growing customer demands.
The engagement also provided an opportunity for MTN Ghana to highlight its sustainability commitments, including its ambition to achieve net-zero emissions by 2040 and efforts to reduce its carbon footprint through cleaner and more energy-efficient technologies. To promote environmental stewardship and encourage the adoption of sustainable energy solutions, MTN presented solar bulbs to all participants at the engagement.

The media and stakeholder engagement brought together representatives from key institutions, including the National Communications Authority (NCA), the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA), the Ghana Highways Authority, the Ghana Police Service, the Ghana Journalists Association (GJA), media practitioners and other stakeholders. The forum provided an opportunity for stakeholders to engage MTN on issues relating to network investment, customer experience, digital inclusion, sustainability, enterprise development and the future of Ghana’s digital transformation.
Participants commended MTN Ghana for its continued investments in the region and welcomed the engagement as an important platform for dialogue, collaboration and feedback.
Prior to the forum, MTN Ghana’s leadership team, led by Chief Enterprise Officer, Angela Mensah-Poku, paid a courtesy call on the Ashanti Regional Minister, Dr. Frank Amoakohene. The team briefed the Minister on MTN’s operations and investments in the region, shared updates on the 30th Anniversary celebrations, and expressed gratitude to the Regional Coordinating Council and stakeholders for their support of MTN’s business and community initiatives over the past three decades.

MTN also reaffirmed its commitment to maintaining open engagement with stakeholders and working collaboratively to promote digital inclusion, economic growth and sustainable development across the Ashanti Region and Ghana as a whole.
