The Member of Parliament for Tarkwa Nsuaem, Hon. Issah Salifu Taylor, has extended warm congratulations to renowned Ghanaian businessman Dr. Ibrahim Mahama and his company, *Engineers and Planners,* for the successful takeover of the Damang mining site. This milestone marks a historic step toward full Ghanaian ownership of one of the nation’s most significant mineral assets.
In a statement celebrating the achievement, Hon. Taylor described the transition as “the dawn of a new chapter” in Ghana’s extractive industry, emphasizing the importance of local participation and control in the management of natural resources.
Drawing from his own experience of over 28 years in the mining sector, Hon. Taylor expressed confidence in the *technical expertise and operational capacity* of Engineers and Planners. He noted that the company’s long-standing presence at the Damang site, spanning nearly three decades as subcontractors, positions them uniquely to drive efficiency, sustainability, and profitability for the benefit of both the nation and the host communities.
“Engineers and Planners have proven themselves as a formidable force, not only in Ghana but across Africa. With their vast human and technological resources, I have no doubt they will transform the Damang site into a model of excellence,” he stated.
