The Ashanti Regional Health Directorate is undertaking a COVID-19 vaccination campaign from 25th to 29th of May, 2023.
The Directorate hopes to vaccinate everybody including pregnant women.
The exercise is being sponsored by USAID and Jhpiego.
According to the Regional Health Director, Dr. Emmanuel Tenkorang, both vaccinators and volunteers have been engaged for the exercise.
He said ,mobile teams will be moving from community to community and school to school during the period.
Dr. Tenkorang said, though not everybody has been vaccinated but because of the support from their partners, they have been able to reach out to a lot of people.
Dr Emmanuel Tenkorang disclosed this in a press conference yesterday.
He then urged everybody to take advantage of the campaign to get vaccinated for their own safety.
According to him, some people still has an idea that, the virus does not exist because of the ignorance.
Dr Tenkorang also entreated everybody to continue to observing the social protocols and keep practicing personal hygiene especially by washing their hands regularly.
