Residents of Abenase,a farming community in the Ejisu municipality of the Ashanti Region have staged on a demonstration to exercise their displeasure over the encroachment of their lands including their cemetery.
Speaking to the media in a Press conference ,Mr Osei Kwame Nkrumah, Secretary to Abenasehene, cautioned encroachers to stay away from the said lands as they will soon mount on a manhunt and make sure that no one crosses the borders of Abenaseman lands.
He also expressed worry about how Ejisumanhene, Nana Afrane Okeseh has been handling the recent land dispute issues between residents of Abenase and onwe.
In a press Conference held last week, the secretary to the chief called on journalist to register their misgivings with sheer disregards and contempt of the Abenase Asarpong,Edwinase and Sonsuano community by Ejismanhene ,Nana Aguakoro Afrane Okese.
They indicated that, Abenase has been without chief for over 40 years and in all these years surrounding towns like Onwe and Bonkra have encroached their lands without fear or favour.
Fortunately for them, Asantehene, Otumfuor Osei Tutu II blessed them with a Chief,in the person of Nana Dr Akuoko Boateng 1, which deserve their heart very much.
According to him, after his enrollment as the Chief barely two years ago,the Chief realized that all his stool lands have been encroached by neighboring communities.
This and other forgoing character have compelled his people to stage in a demonstration and officially appeal to the overlord of Asante, Otumfuor Osei Tutu II to bring perpetrators to book and ensure that Abenaseman is given back their lands for the purpose of development.
They again called on Otumfuo Osei Tutu II to intervene to avert any future violence.
