As I reflect on the current state of politics in Ghana, I am reminded of the events of 2017, when the National Democratic Congress (NDC) suffered a heavy defeat in the 2016 elections. Many of us were confused, disappointed, and some even considered quitting politics altogether.
I was one of them, and had almost decided to relocate to the USA to pursue a career in academia. However, one person who played a significant role in convincing me to stay and work towards bringing the NDC back to power was Hon. Julius Debrah, affectionately known as “CHIEF”.
CHIEF’s Conviction and Perseverance.
CHIEF was emphatic and convincing in his approach, and his message was clear: with the leadership of H.E John Dramani Mahama and the unity of the party, we could come back to power. He worked tirelessly and consistently to ensure that victory was achieved, and his efforts paid off when the NDC eventually returned to power. I must say that CHIEF’s conviction and perseverance were instrumental in motivating me to stay in politics and work towards a common goal.
A Birthday Tribute.
As CHIEF celebrates his birthday, I would like to take this opportunity to express my appreciation for his leadership and mentorship. Ayekooo CHIEF! Your dedication to the NDC and your commitment to the principles of our party are truly inspiring. I am honored to have had the opportunity to work with you and learn from your experiences.
Lessons Learned.
My experience with CHIEF has taught me the importance of perseverance and unity in politics. Despite the challenges we faced in 2017, CHIEF remained steadfast and committed to our cause. His leadership and guidance helped to galvanize the party and ultimately led to our return to power. As I look back on those events, I am reminded of the power of teamwork and the importance of staying true to our principles.
In conclusion, I would like to wish CHIEF a happy belated birthday and express my gratitude for his leadership and mentorship. His contributions to the NDC and Ghana’s politics are invaluable, and I am honored to have had the opportunity to work with him. I hope that his legacy will continue to inspire future generations of politicians and leaders. Ayekooo CHIEF, indeed!
