The Akenten Appiah-Menka University of Skills Training and Entrepreneurial Development (AAMUSTED) has donated an amount of GHC 40, 000 towards the Heal Komfo Anokye Renovation Project (HeKAP).
Speaking to the media on Thursday, August 1, 2024, the Pro-Vice Chancellor of the University, Professor Isaac Boateng displayed receipts of payment into the special project account with Fidelity Bank.
He said the University had been following the project with keen interest and was happy to contribute its widow’s mite.
He noted that KATH was strategically placed to serve all residents in the Ashanti Region and other regions of the country, adding it deserved every support to function efficiently.
“We’ve been following the Heal KATH project with keen interest and we decided to plan and raise money to support same and so today our contribution is ready being amounts raised from our lecturers and staff who are members of UTAG, GAUA, and the University itself”, the Pro-Vice Chancellor stated.

Giving the break down of the contributions from groups in the University, the Pro-Vice Chancellor stated that the University itself was able to raise GHC 12, 000.00.
He added that AAMUSTED members of the University Teachers Association of Ghana 🇬🇠(UTAG) was able to raise an amount GhC 15, 000.00 to help.
Additionally, he stated that the Ghana 🇬🇠Association of University Administrators (GAUA), AAMUSTED Branch members contributed 13, 000.00 making the whole amount stand at GhC 40, 000.00.
“We are happy that AAMUSTED was also contributing to the renovation and development of KATH after the call from our King, Otumfuo Osei Tutu II”, Prof Boateng stated.
GAUA:
On his part, Dr Charles Baba Campion, Chairman of GAUA and Director of Academic Affairs at AAMUSTED said the contribution of GAUA was part of its corporate social responsibility.
He said GAUA and AAMUSTED cherished the role KATH played in the lives of the people in Ashanti Region and the others who visited same for care.
Therefore, Dr Campion noted that it was important for adequate support to be marshalled and delivered to authorities at KATH to help make the facility functional to attend to cases and emergencies that were brought there daily.
Present during the brief presentation ceremony was the Director of Finance at AAMUSTED, Dr Jeff Danquah Boakye and Mrs Janet Acheampong Otoo, Treasurer-GAUA and Deputy Director of Finance-AAMUSTED.
