The District Chief Executive for Ahafo Ano South West District Assembly, Abubakar Sedik, has promised to improve on the existing CHIP Compounds in the district for the people to receive quality health care. He said this when he led a team to Bonkwaso Nõ1 to inspect a private health facility that the Assembly wants to purchase and improve.

The DCE in an interview with the media said that, in the allocations of the District Assemblies Common Fund, every district assembly must construct at least two new CHPS compounds each year.

“We have decided to purchase a private health facility at Bonkwaso Nõ1 and build another CHIP Compound at Afresini Camp to augment the already existing facilities in the district “, he said. He added that the district can thrive when the people are strong and healthy.

According to the DCE, the Assembly will improve the facility with a laboratory and also rehabilitate the nurses’ quarters.

The District Disease Control Officer and former Ag. District Health Director, Michael Kwakye lauded the idea of the Assembly to purchase the facility and improve it. He said that it will help the Health Directorate to deliver quality health care to the people of Bonkwaso Nõ1 and its environs. He noted that when the facility gets a facelift, it will help reduce the pressure on the Mankranso government hospital.

The Assembly Member for Bonkwaso electoral area, Kwaw Francis applauded the District Chief Executive for listening to his plea to improve the existing CHIP Compound to provide quality health care to the people.

Martha Danso, the midwife in charge of the facility expressed her joy for the decision of the Assembly to improve the facility. She pleaded with the District Health Directorate to transfer more nurses to the facility.
