Hon. Nii Lartey Ollenu and businessman, Mr. Frederick Kwadwo Nkansah a k.a “Yentumi” have made a joint donation of food items to the Heart Smiles Children’s Home at Akropong of the Amansie West District.
The duo are the former District Chief Executive for Amansie West and NPP 2024 parliamentary aspirant for Manso Nkwanta Constituency respectively.
Items donated were assorted soft drinks, bags of rice, bags of sugar, toiletries, detergents, gallons of cooking oil, toffees, packs of biscuits, packs of bottles water, an undisclosed amount of money, etc.
The donation worth GHs 20,000 and was done of Wednesday, 1st January, 2025 at the forecourt of the orphanage home.
Businessman Yentumi and Hon. Nii Lartey Ollenu climaxed the gesture with a dinner party with the children to mark the celebration of the new year (2025).
This year’s gesture adds up to the tall list of donations offered by them to the orphanage home.
They do that annually to show their love and also put smiles on the faces of the children.
Chief of Akropong, Nana Oddai Kwame Nketia III graced the occasion.
Hon. Nii Lartey Ollenu, former DCE for Amansie West said in his address that showing love to children especially the vulnerable is their heartbeat.
“We have much love for children. They are so dear to us”, he remarked.
Making inference from the biblical adage that ” service to Man is a service to God”, he indicated that any support offered to children equates ones love for God and that doing that is reciprocated with much blessings from God.
Premised on the foregoing, he said he and Hon. Yentumi have developed much passion vis-a-vis offering support to the vulnerable in society.
Hon. Frederick Kwadwo Nkansah Yentumi reiterated same in his address, saying so much blessings follow every support given to the vulnerable and that a prayer support offered by children owing to the kindness shown to them does a lot for the giver.
Mr. Yentumi mentioned that he was ones a child and the support of someone during his childhood made him who he is today.
He therefore called on the well-to-dos to shun limiting the enjoyment of their wealth to only their families.
“When you are rich, you must reach out to the vulnerable within and outside your family circle”, he challenged.
