The Ashanti Regional Minister ,Dr Frank Amoakohene has made a heartfelt appeal to the management of Atwea Mountains, a revered site for religious pilgrimages, to pray for Ghana’s prosperity and the well-being of its leaders .
During his working visit to the mountains today , the Minister requested prayers for President John Dramani Mahama, Otumfuo Osei Tutu II, the Asantehene, himself, and other regional authorities.
The Minister’s visit aimed to settle a dispute between the Forestry Commission and the Sekyere Central District Assembly.
However, it also provided an opportunity for the operators of Atwea Mountains to appeal for essential amenities.
Evangelist Richard Kwasi Afriyie, Overseer of Atwea Camp 3 Methodist, requested support for basic facilities, including:
Lighting to ensure safety and security.
He also appealed to the minister to help provide them with market facilities to provide a convenient space for economic activities and also not to harass users during fasting hours.
He again appealed for Portable drinking water to address the community’s hydration needs and good toilet facilities to maintain hygiene and sanitation.
The Evangelist emphasized that the community prays every Monday for the country’s success, and in return, they hope the nation will consider their welfare.
The Minister has pledged to provide the requested facilities, demonstrating his commitment to supporting the community’s development.
