National Democratic Congress (NDC) Chairman, Johnson Asiedu Nketia, has disclosed that the late Dr. Samuel Sarpong was appointed Board Chairman of the Produce Buying Company limited by President John Dramani Mahama on the morning of August 6, 2025, just before his untimely death in a helicopter crash from Accra to Obuasi.
According to Chairman Asiedu Nketia, he had informed Dr. Sarpong about his appointment letter being issued during their discussion on Tuesday, August 5, and that he was set to officially receive the letter on Wednesday, August 6.
Chairman Asiedu Nketia, who was initially supposed to attend the function in Obuasi, had asked Dr. Sarpong to represent him due to unforeseen circumstances.
Hon Asiedu Nketia shared this revelation during a condolence visit to Dr. Samuel Sarpong’s family house in Juaben, praising the deceased’s dedication to the NDC.
