The Executive Presbytery of the Assemblies of God, Ghana ,has called on its church members at the Abundant Life branch of the Church at Bohyen-Adumanu in the Ashanti Region, to uphold the Peace of the Church over the appointment of a new Head Pastor.
At a Press conference on Thursday, 26 June 2024 Mr. Affail Monney, a member of the communication team for the church highlighted on a precise statement singed by the church General Secretary, Rev. Ernest Birikorang. In their statement, the leadership of the Assemblies of God, Ghana described the incident that happened last Sunday at the Abundunt Life, branch of the Church at Bohyen-Adumanu in the Ashanti Region over the appointment of a new Head Pastor as an unfortunate event. And has therefore called for peace to be restored.
“We call for absolute calm while urgent moves are made to address the situation in line with the biblical injunction to ‘make every effort to keep the unity of the Spirit through the bond of peace.’ (Ephesians 4:3),” they stated.
In conclusion, the Executive Presbytery of Assemblies of God, Ghana has therefore urged members of the Bohyen-Adumanu assembly to refrain from any act that may undermine the Church main agenda to ‘Send the Light’ to every village, town, and city of the country with the sole intention to win more souls for Christ and to dispel source of darkness in the society.

On Sunday, 23 June 2024 some church member of the Assemblies of God at Bohyen- Adumanu,Kumasi, registered their displeasure in a protest against its leadership over the appointment of a new Head Pastor. In a video which circulated on the internet, some church members were angrily opposing the induction of new Head Pastor over their preferred associate pastor, one Rev. Bismark Opoku who according to them was the right person to have replaced Rev. S.Y Manu who just retired. Despite the protests and misunderstandings, the head of the church in the Ashanti Region proceeded with the induction ceremony, with armed security personnel at the church premises .
