The Municipal Chief Executive (MCE) for Atwima Nwabiagya South Municipality, Hon. Wisdom Osei Boamah, has taken a significant step toward the realization of the government’s 24-Hour Economy policy with the convening of a high-level stakeholders’ meeting on the proposed 24-Hour Economy Market Land.
The meeting, held at the Municipal Assembly, brought together key municipal heads, rightful landowners, and strategic partners whose collaboration is crucial to securing the land and paving the way for the construction of the modern market facility. The engagement forms part of broader efforts by the Assembly to stimulate economic growth, expand employment opportunities, and position the municipality as a vibrant commercial hub within the Ashanti Region.
Addressing participants, Hon. Osei Boamah emphasized that the 24-Hour Economy Market is not merely an infrastructure project but a transformative initiative aimed at unlocking the economic potential of the area. He noted that the proposed market will provide a structured and accessible trading environment for traders, farmers, artisans, and small-scale entrepreneurs, while encouraging round-the-clock commercial activities.
“The meeting brought together the rightful landowners and key partners who will make the land available for the construction of the market,” the MCE stated. “We had extensive discussions on the project plan and the proposed design of the market. The engagement was very fruitful, and I am pleased to assure the public that all processes are progressing smoothly.”
According to the MCE, the deliberations focused on land acquisition procedures, the architectural layout of the market, accessibility, security arrangements, and provisions for essential amenities such as sanitation facilities, storage units, and parking spaces. He stressed the importance of transparency, mutual respect, and collaboration in ensuring that the project benefits all stakeholders and the wider community.
Hon. Osei Boamah further indicated that the Assembly remains committed to inclusive development, adding that consultations with traditional authorities and landowners were conducted in a spirit of cooperation and shared vision. He commended the stakeholders for their readiness to support the initiative, describing their contributions as a testament to their dedication to the socio-economic advancement of the municipality.
The 24-Hour Economy Market is expected to serve as a catalyst for job creation, youth empowerment, and enhanced local revenue generation. By facilitating extended business hours, the market will enable traders and service providers to operate beyond conventional time limits, thereby boosting productivity and expanding income streams.
Residents and business operators have expressed optimism about the project, viewing it as a long-awaited intervention that will decongest existing markets, improve trading conditions, and attract investors to the municipality.
Hon. Osei Boamah assured the public that the Assembly is working diligently to ensure that all legal and administrative processes are completed promptly. “Very soon, everything will be set for the commencement of construction of the market,” he affirmed.

As preparations move steadily toward the groundbreaking phase, the Atwima Nwabiagya South Municipal Assembly remains focused on delivering a modern, well-planned, and sustainable market that aligns with the government’s vision of a dynamic 24-hour economy and shared prosperity for all.
